   Apparently there is a setting to turn this off: Go to Settings, Customs, and untick "HS Code & Description auto-lookup". Didn't know about this, or whether it's a new feature or not, but it definitely works.

   100% absolutely. Don't auto-update, unless the field is blank. Or at least, give us an option somewhere in the settings to enable/disable this feature.
