royal mail tracked delivered to wrong house major problem
We had a customer inform us the tracking online showed the parcel was delivered to a completely different area of her street, across a road and in a cul-de-sac.
She needed the items urgently to complete her grandsons birthday present of a Panda.
I rang RM and got a nice chap a week ago who said the postman would go back to that address and retrieve the parcel and deliver it to the correct address. He also said i should claim for the miss delivery as is my right.
Yesterday, 6 days later, the customer said she still had not received it so i rang again. A different chap again apologised and said he would chase it up and ring me back this morning with what is going on. He also said i should claim.
So i have 2 problems, if it is not delivered by 1pm today i am going to have to resend the parcel as she needs these toys eyes and noses. As a small family business i really can't afford to post this out twice, the order was very small and the biggest bit of the order was postage, so i made hardly any profit on it anyway. I will be making a big loss because of the postage charge for a parcel if i have to pay postage twice without getting anything back.
That takes me to the second problem. i can't find a claim form anywhere on RM. You just go round and round in circles. You seem to get to the right page for businesses where a parcel is marked as delivered when it is not, you click the contact us and it takes you straight back to the page i started on when i clicked "make a complaint".
So where is the claim form?
Why did they deliver to 19 when the parcel clearly said 16?
Why haven't they been back to get the parcel for this poor lady who is disabled and can't get round there herself?
Anyone else had problems like this?
Can anyone point me to the right form?

update - i had to ring to find out where the form was. he emailed me the URL (said was a link but it wasn't, luckily i am computer literate).
Filled in the form, weeks later got an email to say it had been declined. 2 phone calls stated YES they had delivered to the wrong house and an email from them to say, YES it had been delivered to the wrong house. But claims department stated, it had been delivered so there is no claim. YES it was delivered TO THE WRONG HOUSE.
It took another email with pictures of the map online showing the delivery place of the original order and the resent order showing very different place in the street and we finally got the ok to get the cost price of the order back.
This has taken so much of my time and energy i can see why RM rely on us not bothering to claim. But i WILL continue to claim when you get it wrong!!
