Click & Drop Tariff, HS Codes
There seems to be confusion about the HS codes required for the CN22 customs forms, which codes should be used, the 6, 8 or 10 digit codes.
I am using the codes generated from here
Are these codes also suitable for EU countries and Non EU destinations too?
Please answer the questions below.
1. Do we use 6, 8 or 10 digit codes?
2. Are the codes generated by https://www.gov.uk/trade-tariff acceptable for EU and Non EU countries.
The accompanying notes for both CN22 & CN23 forms clearly state that 6 digit code should be used. Perhaps the question is whether the countries requiring pre-advice data need something else and how does that then translate when added to the paper CN22 & Cn23 labels?
You don't need any customs data for EU countries - that's while the UK is in the EU anyway. Click and Drop will not currently generate CN22/23s for EU countries.
Hi. 6 digits are fine for postal purposes. This is a a worldwide standard so work equally for EU as well as Rest of the World destinations.
