Large letter delivery confirmation, BPL code clarification
I've read the announcement message that says you will not be providing delivery confirmation on BPL large letters. However, I would like your thoughts on what will happen in the following example:
I post a LL BPL.
Customer claims none receipt. Customer is a lying thief.
I don't have delivery confirmation, so I refund customer, and make a P58 claim for loss.
It's likely that your delivery person will scan all large letters. Do you then deny my claim because you have a delivery scan, even though you've told me I can't have access to it?
yes was mis-sold by royal mail - i set up account as the rep told me bpl scanning was being rolled out before xmas 2017 but now you speak to royal mail & get told different depending on who you talk to,sometimes "it was never going to be scanned" sometimes "we hit legal issues with it"but my post man tells me they are told to scan at least 98% on delivery?
i actually logged a complaint & was told they would contact me but never did.
to make matters worse they make it as difficult as possible to claim for what they have lost or failed to deliver.
bpl should be scanned & if my customer says it didnt arrive & royal mail didnt scan it then royal mail should pay me for my loss - simples

14th Feb now, anyone know if BPL via Click & Drop has delivery confirmation working yet? I'm not VAT registered and would love to switch over to Click and Drop but the extra VAT would cost me over £800 a year extra. At the moment I only use if for 20% of orders.
Don't assume your customer is a 'lying thief'. I send all my items with CRL, it shows delivery and yet customer hasn't received the item. I myself have had items sent to me that never arrived. Items get lost! It is rare but it happens.
When we were asked to go onto Click and Drop we were also told large letter on bpl would have delivery confirmation. It has been mis-selling.
BPL is essentially an inferior service to CRL.
There are 2d codes on all these services and the same should apply to all.

Is Royal Mail even listening to all their customers asking for this to be switched on?
Is this a case of miselling by Royal Mail?
Should they even put the 2D code on the envelope if they use it to deny claims but not to provide delivery status to customers and sub customers?
It’s a total mess.
They promissed this and need to implement this.
Whats the point, you cant claim for compensation for lost items for CRL but can for BPL which is why Click and Drop havent implemented tracking for BPL. Its just a massive rip-off

I think it's fair to say that there are a lot of dedicated BPL users including myself who would really benefit from delivery confirmations and it'll help Royal Mail as well in reducing lost item claims. It's really a win win for everybody so this should be made a priority please.
thief too much you have a customer on eBay
to return the money I've wasted
I would also add to this - I don't understand how CRL has tracking for LL on the basis that BPL and STL is aimed at the document market - what is that supposed to mean exactly? Surely CRL that has no compensation is more suitable for documents (negligible cost to reproduce and need for claim) in contrast to BPL and STL that have a compensation level of 20 pounds - the rational of this escapes me. We are all just trying to stop fraudulent INR claims and it is not helping prevent claims on the one product that is actually claimable!.
