I would like to see the cost of the postage before I commit to apply postage
We have no idea how much the parcel will cost. I would like an alert for each postal amount before I commit to applying the post especially for international mail
There are two threads on here which get a lot of comments.
The first is this one where business users are asking to know the price before we manifest.
The second is from customers using C+D without a business account. They are complaining (quite rightly) that they do not want the cost of the postage paid shown on the label.
Can anyone else see the irony here ?
Is this even legal not showing prices and asking (business) customers to purchase it?

It is very unhelpful not to be able to see how much an item costs for Special Delivery and International Delivery. Surely it is possible to see the prices as they are calculated on the manifest but again not individually.
It is very annoying that I have to sign of Click and Drop and sign in to OBA just to check the price of a parcel.

This is such a basic flaw in the system. Who thought it was acceptable to expect customers to commit to a purchase when they can't see the cost at the time of purchase?
it may well be possible to go into OBA/invoices afterwards but who has time to do that?

Hi, I have been in contact with customer services to try and find out why the prices for RM24 has shot up on my account. I was told that a on-line form would be emailed to me. All I have received is a change of address or account details links. After spending 40 minutes waiting on the phone, I am non to pleased. A few days ago, I was charged 99P +vat for a RM24 up to 100G a few days later I was charged £2.02+ vat for up to 100g. So I do need to know why. I will not be using my Click and drop account till I get some understanding of this, as I am losing money on sales due to the excessive charges. I fully agree that one should be able to know a ball park cost before committing. I have tried many times to get a price structure, and also to speak to person that deals with pricing, but it would seem that such a person dose not exist, even though you are told you get a personal manager or assistant of some sort.
if OBA is an old system that is outdated and you want people to use click on drop, then why on earth cant we have the features of the outdated old system. Saying you can just go into oba and check the prices, really like that isnt backward and going to take twice as long for each order. OBA was so much easier and better, i could log in and process an order within 2 minutes, I get that you want ius to save youlots of hassle of sorting by having us enter all the addresses but at least get the system upto OBA the old outdated systems standard. Even after an order is manifested still no way to look at individual items prices. I think ill go back to OBA
This would be very useful and should be implemented ASAP

I would also like to see the postage, it's always been a want of mine. Recently spent more than necessary trying to fathom the most cost effective way to send a lost of post. Signed For is seemingly not part of a cost effective solution any more.
yes this feature is useful, its really hard to know what items cost on an individual basis
I have just registered for click and drop. I have spent a good amount of time trying to understand how much postage I have to pay for an usually shaped item. I am really stressed out by the process which is not clear at all! I am hoping to send items that are not all uniform in size and shape on a regular basis. Click and drop seemed like a good option but I am now wondering if it is more trouble than it is worth.
i concur with the others, i've just had to blind send an international track and trace to Kazakhstan but don't know how much it is so i've had to google and charge what i think to the customer, not great as i don't know if i've lost out, and cant check once its been manifested as it doesn't split individually from other orders.. so frustrating as it has been like this for a few years (since april 2018 on this post) and it takes up valuable time researching. Come on RM this should be a given requirement on the platform. PLEASE Help.
There is a simple solution to this. Any discounts should be applied on the monthly bill depending on the volume you sent this way the prices will be rigid when creating the labels on click and drop.

Can you hurry up & sort this please ? How long do we have to wait as you've known about this for a long time now.....!

This! I can do this in OBA. I'm not sure of the legality of making me commit to something that I don't know the price of! BPL/BPR/OLA/OTC items are not averaged, so there's no reason to not show the price on each order. Even for averaged items, you should show the max price. it is currently IMPOSSIBLE to know whether the correct shipping rule has been applied until after you manifest.
I need this too, it makes me shop elsewhere first.

I totally agree. Just booked in a special pre-9.00am delivery. After entering the weight & choosing the special delivery option, at the bottom of the page were additional options for the recipient such as a text for them or email - are these for free ? No idea because you only find out at the end when you get the manifest & then it's too late - you're already committed & bound to the price given ! This is just so basic & yes it was shown earlier on the previous OBA. The pricing should be shown when entering in the weights. Wake up & do something about this RM !!
The prices are displayed in OBA system, so no reason at all why it can't be on click and drop. In fact, I would be surprised if not showing prices is even legal.
Can you imagine another supplier where you spend £80K a year, not showing their prices.
Still nothing on this. I know batch orders get discounts, but at least show the base price.
At worst all it can do is show you the most you'll pay. Surely better than blindly buying.
Interesting the comment about not going ahead for technical reasons.
They can show the postage price elsewhere on RM websites.
Surely it's just a series of pre-defined values?
If it's this size, this weight it costs £x using Service X
This is still on the request but doesn't get anywhere they DON'T WANT TO DO IT!!
It can be done .. people would be happy with an indication on pre discount prices thats one excuse they give...
It would help users reduce their postage costs, as you can easily select the wrong service, only one click can cost you £20 extra...
Then you use the premium telephone contact to get it changed or refunded that takes time ...alot of time.
When this system is supposed to save time and money....
Excuses they use... cant be done.....
But there are postage rate searches... and xl spreadsheets etc... so the info is there
dosent show discounted postage rates, I don't have huge amounts of discount as I don't have huge amount of post, but the mistakes cost me alot in time or money
