Selecting the position of a label to be printed
In the, soon to be defunct, On Line Postage system you are able to click to tell the 'system' which label position on a sheet of 2 or 4 you would like to print. Why have you gone back to the ark by not having this on Click and Drop? I run a very small business and have sporadic orders. I have logoed labels. At the moment I just click on the label position I want to use in the On Line Postage system and it's printed out. Lovely! I tried the Click and Drop system today...if I want to print batches of four labels it's great. Anything less than that, and let's face it who prints in batches of four all the time, you now have labels left over that can't be used - you can turn an A4 sheet once but you'll still be left with an unusable label at top right and bottom left as you look at the screen.
Why isn't that simple idea from On Line Postage on the Click and Drop system? Surely it's not beyond a techie person to add a little icon to allow you to choose which label position is needed if you select 2 or 4 label printing but only have one label to print? It's a waste of paper to leave unprinted labels in situ on the sheet and it's a waste of trees to print out a whopping great big A4 sheet of paper with a tiddly label on it which you then have to stick on the parcel with sellotape (which I stopped using as they can easily come adrift or get torn)

We’re pleased to announce this functionality is now available for customers accessing Click & Drop with Paypal. To access this feature, click on settings and templates, choose the A4 template and 4 per A4 option. You will then be given the choice of where to start printing when you print your label.
Thanks for you patience whilst we delivered this feature.

Yay! I've finally worked out how to position the label where I want it. I created an order first, THEN applied postage, THEN it gave me the option of paying and choosing the label position. So I chose top right, and it worked!!! Yahoo! Why C&D couldn't just explain that, or why they couldn't make it more user-friendly, I really don't know.

Why no reply from Click & Drop STILL, after a whole YEAR has gone by. I currently have several sheets of A4 with two labels on them, waiting to be used when I can choose the label position. Despite the assurance of C&D that this functionality is back, it IS NOT. Well if it is back, it is invisible to me. I remain unimpressed with this system, which is geared towards business use only, not personal use. I don't need to go through the palava of creating orders, I just need to print the occasional label to send parcels or letters in the UK and overseas. I can put up with the creating order thing if I have to, but I want to choose the label position on the sheet!!!!

I have tried to position the labels today (with 4 per page) and each one would only print on the top left. So for 6 labels I have used 6 pages rather than 1.5. Surely that isnt right?! Help!

I can't figure out how to change the position of the label. There doesn't seem to be an option?

This is a rubbish feature... I want to select what type of AVERY label to print onto - the exact position - AND I want to do this AS A PERSONAL CUSTOMER without having to use the vastly more complicated BUSINESS CLICK AND DROP functionality.

Despite Admin flagging this as completed, still no way to print multiple labels and so just have to bin sheet after sheet of A4 with just one label printed at the bottom - no way to select multiple lables per sheet

This Click and Drop system is extremely clunky, inefficient and not intuitive.
Having to jump through hoops to pick a label position is for the birds.
The form for the postal address and billing addresses is confusing.
Leave black-box technology to GCHQ and give us something easy to work with please. -

I am totally frustrated with Click & Drop, I pay with Paypal and I am still unable to print a proper label not to mention the waste. Please revert back to the old system as it was so much better, this system is flawed.

This is so frustrating, previous on-line account printing worked much better for one offs. I would prefer to use 4/A4 not 2/A4) to make best of bad, I tick that I don't want to put my address on the label so I don't waste half page BUT it prints anyway therefore using a whole sheet! Can you amend???

An awful system - why did you change it ? The old system advised you if a field had exceeded the maximum character length - C&D does not. The label positioning is a nightmare and causes a massive waste of a4 label sheets as the positioning is laughable and totally unintuitive. The payments side of things is a joke. Why cant we prepay and save time having to sign into paypal - seriously flawed guys !!

I have set up A4 4 labels per page as my printing option and have PayPal as my payment gateway but the label still defaults to top left and I can find no way of changing the selection. Any help?

The new Click and Drop is dreadful. After 40 years in IT System Development I can honestly say that it is the worst It "solution" I have ever encountered.
It is obvious that personal users have never been consulted; the developers do not appear to understand the needs of personal users who are paying customers; and Royal Mail management do not understand due diligence in the process of delivering a solution claimed to be easier and quicker than the Online Postage system. This system was not released it escaped.

Well done Royal Mail, after 1 or 2 problems at first, I now find the new system much better. Great being able to position your label & to print off 4 simultaneously.
Many thanks. -

I have to add my dislike to this system. I loved the Smart Stamp system it was so easy to use and user friendly. I used to use Smart Stamp labels which were perfect, but now I have to print out on A4 paper cut in half to make an A5 as my envelopes aren't big enough for an A4 sheet of paper. Talking of which, printing out on paper and then having to tape this to an envelope is just rubbish and does not look professional at all. Then there's the payment options. I don't want to have to pay using PayPal, I liked the previous pre-pay system. This system just seems a backward step. Bring back the old system please!

I seriously dislike this new system!!! I loved the old system - worked brilliantly and never failed - so quick and easy. I loved that I could pay in advance using the online pre-pay feature with no having to use Paypal. I'm really struggling with this site and am not happy with the label layout either. Now I get a little label that that's the size of a quarter square of A4 on portrait, which surely can't be easy for the Postman to see, whereas before my one label filled half an A4 on landscape. I think more printing options and paying options need to be made available like the previous OLP service. I am so frustrated with this site - not user-friendly at all and the Help/Support doesn't cover these issues either. Looks like I'm having the same trouble as others. I think it would be simpler to drive to the Post Office like we did before OLP as I wasted so much time today just trying to send 3 A4 letters

Why is it mandortary to put a surname on addess lable in click and collect? Ive been selling on ebay for years and not all buyers use there full name and some just business names and the new click and drip will not let you go further so do we have to use the name bloggs after a name if the customer not not supply one?
I agree with all comment as with trying to save waste and paper trail this is a huge time wasting ans wasteful service
hOURS AND HOURS of calls no responce so if I DO NOT have surname cant proceed ,cant positions lables , dont want tocreate orders , it beggrs belief in this day and age Royal mailhave gone backwards and making on line now impossible foe me
I need to use different size lables as I send all sorts of items some small, large letter and small parcel
Portrait only and size cannot be used on small packages and enveopes only smart stamp offered me this serive oh back to stamps or no business
ROYAL MAIL please find someone that can write software for new services and PLEASE DO NOT GO LIVE until you have basic features and NOT mandertory request that wont let you process like having to use surnames I could ho on, thinking now of passing this on to a national news paper or tv for help I am astounded in this dat and age somethink that could be simple to sue with great features is not on offer for personal and business use, BRING BACK smart stamp please or sort out click and drop , stamps from now on is goinf to be a nightmare for me but no choice -

What a useless system, all I need to do is print envelopes. The old system was great. A monkey could have designed a better system than this one. Spent ages importing my old address book only to find the new system is rubbish
FIX IT.Please
