Pre Pay
I have an Online Postage account at the moment and prepay my postage for our small business, this means that i print one Royal Mail invoice each time I load the prepay account . Once this closes I will be forced to use the Drop&Go and pay for individual items so print 50-60 invoices per month which is crazy. In addition the Drop&Go service needs to be paid by paypal/creditcard and I dont want others in my business being able to use my paypal/credit card accounts as i cant control the spends. Apparently I dont qualify for the OBA as i dont spend enough. All i want is a prepay facility on the Drop & Go.

Hi,
As has been stated, the pre-pay option no longer exists in Click & Drop.
However, we are looking into this, and the different options that we can use.
As an alternative, it is possible to add funds to a Paypal account which can then be used in a similar manner. While we are aware that this is not the same as the prepay option in Online Postage, it does offer some similar functionality.
We will keep you updated with any developments on this subject.
Regards
The Click & Drop Team

Still not addressed? Please give us an alternative to PayPal!

even Hermes offer a facility to store a card, having to keep entering the card details is a PITA

The new click and drop is totally useless as cannot give staff full access to PayPal to make payments. Royal Mail should have either kept the prepaid option or allowed for storing a credit/debit card in the system (with card number hidden), two workable solutions.

I need to be able to pre pay for my business. This new system doesn't work for us at all. We've gone back to postage stamps. What a rubbish new system.

Was just forced to use the click and drop serice for the first time. Its awful. What previously took 5 minutes took over an hour. No way to pre pay, lots of repetition, etc. May as well go back to buying stamps.

Adding funds to the PayPal account is not an acceptable option for us as as a business we cannot give staff access to the PayPal account for security reasons.

Has there been any response from Royal Mail on the issue of pre-pay? At the moment I'm using the inferior "Drop&Go" because it allows upfront payment, but this means I have to take everything to the post office rather than using a nearby postbox. This is really inconvenient.
As a charity volunteer working in my spare time, I simply cannot afford to spend that time claiming back each and every postage payment I make. PLEASE BRING BACK PRE PAY!

Agreed, this is such a backward step - don't want to use paypal balance but using my card every time I buy postage increases my bank charges let alone the increased amount of paperwork. Obviously this doesn't bother or affect Royal Mail but they may find that people will not be using this overcomplicated click and drop service which hasn't make any improvement for the user.

We need to have a credit balance so any member of staff can log in to create postage. I am the only member of staff that has access to the company debit/credit card and the PayPal account - which I've had to set up for using with this service - but that is not something that can be shared around our team.

Like the previous comments it is imperative that a prepay option is implemented for Click & Drop. To have up to 10 individual transactions a day showing on my bank statement and being charged therefore by the bank is damaging to a small business such as mine (NOT an Ebay business). I have been a loyal customer of the post office for many years and would appreciate a response to these commentators.

I agree. I don't want to use PayPal. I used to have an account with Royal Mail and deposit money in advance. Why can't I do this now? This change is a backward step.

I'm just adding another plea like the previous ones for a pre-pay option for relatively low volume users. As a one-man business, I do my own accounts. As outlined in the original comment, the new Click And Drop system will force me to raise an invoice and create a line in my accounts every time I use it. On the old online postage system, I only have to raise an invoice each time I load my online account, which can be as infrequently as every 6 months. On-line postage has enabled me to avoid Post-Office queues for several years and has worked superbly for small businesses like mine. the new system will rob me of all that time saved. Please enable a pre-pay facility for Click And Drop.

On the payment popup, scroll down to the bottom and you can pay with any of your cards. It's a guest function. it doesn't use your paypal balance.

Stop only offering me to checkout via Paypal. Onced logged in, it wants to me to use my balance rather than pay by card, and refuses any other alternative (including adding a new card to pay with). I'm still using the old service but PLEASE resolve this otherwise I'll have to be looking elsewhere.

Agh sorry for terrible grammar on previous comment, blaming it on my phone! Introduce a pre-pay option, please and thank you!

Agreed! With a prepay option you have could have hundreds of transactions a bank statement instead of just one, plus an invoice for each. Please implement pre-paid!
