Populate contact name when creating a new order
When creating a new order with a new customer, we put the contact name in with the email address and this saves to the address book, however, when creating any further shipments to that customer using the orders section, it does not bring over the contact name. Only way it seems to do this is if you go into your address book and find the customer and create an order directly from their record. Very frustrating
We are planning to make a change in the near future which will mean that the contact name is copied from an address book entry when an order is created from the order overview screen.
As soon as we have a release date for this work we will update you.

Agree with this completely, it is very frustrating to add a customer's details and the system finds them under the "address book entry" search box (with the nice little book avatar), but then doesn't populate the name over when selected!!!
The address book feature is no good on it's own as we don't know if the customer is existing or not and if I am processing 100 orders a day I would have to search for all 100 addresses, and the search facility on the address book is not very user friendly or quick. The "Enter Order" page is much quicker and more user friendly but annoying when it doesn't populate the name!
It's now 12th March and the original post was put up on December 14th and responded on February 9th. I understand this is a complex system, but it can't be that hard a fix to populate those 2 fields so please hurry up.
Please sort this out quickly as I actually like the new Click and Drop but this feature is making it very time consuming!
Agree, this is most frustrating and is doubling the time it takes to create orders.
It takes far to long to go to the address book to create the order to get all the info through, so this problem in the main create order page needs action very quickly now.

Any news on this as its starting to get a little frustrating now that the name does not come over when creating a new order for a saved record. Not only does it not bring over the name that is saved on the account, it does not bring over the email address saved on the account either meaning these have to be populated every time we raise a new order. On DMO these are saved on the record and come straight up which means we are having to revert back to DMO for now which is a shame after starting to get used to Click & Drop.
