Service codes from DMO and enhancements import
When importing orders we can only use the OBA codes such as CRL24 or CRL48 and we can't specify if there's signature or not. With DMO we could automatically import an order with a Signature whereas with C&D this needs to be done manually.

This feature has now been completed. For full specifications on the fields you can include in order imports, please see this guide: https://help.parcel.royalmail.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360000250093-Order-Import-spreadsheet-field-specifications

Service enhancements are now in, we have been prepping our signature required orders today, just added a new column into the file and then mapped it again.
Works a treat, thanks for putting it in! -

Please hurry up and get this done, it is costing YOU Royal Mail money every day it is not available and it is annoying the hell out of my customers. I need a signature for some of my Tracked because my customers do not accept that a 'Delivered' status is actually delivered. Saying its 'delivered or with a neighbour' still causes non-repudiation of receipt. Your lack of business analysis is destroying my reputation.

Please hurry up and get this done. Why would anybody design a system that had less functionality than the incumbant system especially when you charge additional fees for these services!? The absence of this WILL AUTOMATICALLY CAUSE YOU TO LOOSE REVENUE! LOL

We have discovered the problem with Rules not being applied to imports via Dropbox.
'The Import will override the Shipping Rule when you are importing. If you remove the Service Code from the Import the Shipping Rule will pick it up and mark it with a Signature.'
So if you want a rule to be applied, you have to submit your order csv/xml with a blank service code field. Service codes override rules.

Just tried to make this work as a RULE. Problem is, the rule does not work on ondemand orders via Dropbox!!!!!! Rules only work for manual entry. What? So if I send 100 orders a day and 20 need a signature, I'll have to go in and manually add them.
I bet companies doing 1000 parcels a day are loving this.
I have spent three days frigging around setting up a whole new feed structure from Sage. This Click & Drop is no way near ready for roll out for higher volume users who do the ondemand label printing using services with enhancements. Saying something is planned means we have a moving target.
Plus I can see it was 'Planned' in Dec 2017. It's now March 2018. D'oh!

Definitely need this - If there is no date for implementation, suggest DMO on demand is kept alive until the solution is implemented, tested and there is enough time for customer software to be rewritten & tested.
CnD on demand not being backwardly compatible with DMO on demand was a big misstep.

Yes, I'm just migrating from DMO ondemand and have just discovered that we can't add a signature to Tracked 48/24 parcels unless we set up a shipping rule. Which is not as straightforward as it sounds. Seems that 'Signature' is a basic enhancement that should be enabled and quickly.
Here's why: We set up a shipping rule based on order value. But we send out a replacement or exchange item to a customer. Order has zero value, but there's high value content in the package. So each time this happens, despatch will have to do a manual label...........
Same apples to supplier returns, these are zero valued.
Ondemand users will tend to be high volume operations. About 15% of our packages go signed for. That's a lot manual entry........

It may be possible for some customers to use a shipping rule to get around this BUT I've tried it and Shipping rules is VERY basic. On DMO I could decide which customers had a signature. Now I've kind of given up and R.M. have lost the additional signature fees from my account for good.

It is imperative that we have service enhancement options such as SIGNED FOR in the dropbox csv file creation. We are losing services at the moment using the dropbox method which are critical to our operation using Click and Drop. Please add this on to your next dev upgrade. I cannot believe this was missed out during the development of the programme.

We have just finished impementing Click and Drop in our in-house system. With DMO we had a 'single click' solution for printing a label and have managed the same thing with Click and Drop so that's good. Although a lot of people are griping, in general Click and Drop looks more professional and seems like better written software.
There are a couple of minor things that we can do with DMO that we cannot do with C&D and we can live with that. But there is a show-stopper and that's this problem. How could Royal Mail release the import software without the ability to specify if the shipment is 'Signed For' or not? Astonishing. Have checked the shipping rules option but that workaround doesn't work for us. Encouragingly, it appears they are working on it - please put it to the top of the priority queue! Will it be released before DMO is retired (31 March for us)??

Royal Mail is going to loose money on this one. If you cant specify a service such as a signature then
you wont use it. Who decided that it was a good idea to omit this!MAKE IT A TRUE/FALSE FIELD ON THE IMPORT FILE - LET US DECIDE AS WE DID WITH DMO!

As mentioned in one of the replies, it is possible to work around this by using the Shipping Rules functionality in the Settings section of the site.
For further information on how to use this functionality, please contact the Click & Drop Support Team.

Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion. The functionality to indicate in the file upload that a signature, and/or notification is required for an order is scheduled to be worked on in the New Year. No firm release date has been given yet, but we will keep you updated as soon as there is one.
Thanks

They need to allow a field on the upload file that indicates if a signature is required, we need this for the CRL24 & CRL48 service codes.
Interestingly, you can add rules to automatically apply 'Obtain a signature upon delivery', we have used this as a 'hack' to make it work for the time being.

Yes, came on here to ask if this was possible, we used to have a rule that any parcel over a certain value would be sent by Tracked 24 with signature. We process hundreds of orders a day so doing anything manually is not an option. I wonder if I need to use a different code from TPN24 (tracked 24)?
