Allow ability to submit electronic customs data only for Stamp Users
We currently get a large discount on stamps 30%+ and the result of this is that Click & Drop is too expensive for the majority of our international mail. We do use the CLick and Drop service for tracked international but standard mail is sent using Stamps.
The requirement for electronic customs is impossible to comply with for stamp users and I feel Royal Mail have a duty to provide a webbased service to submit the electronic customs data for stamp users. This service should be both Form Driven and also API driven. It would also be ideal if the service could produce the CN22/CN23 documents as it does with Click and Drop.
Whilst this may seem like a step backwards in the age of web based shipping Stamps are a perfectly legal way to pay for shipping and as such Royal Mail has a duty to allow users to use stamps and still be able to comply with electronic customs requirements.
The service could at a minimum be integrated with click & drop and allow the import of information from a csv as it does currently. Infact in all fairness Royal Mail could possibly add a service called ELECTRONIC CUSTOMS ONLY - STMAPS REQUIRED TO THE VALUE OF £xx.xx to the existing Click & Drop System and then users could print a label with a blank square with (with STAMPS REQUIRED printed inside) instead of the current DATAMATRIX.
The current barcode position could be for the Customs S10 barcode and the CN22/23 would produce as normal.
This is a massive issue for small to mid-sized sellers and Royal Mail need to resolve it asap. Following the EU withdrawal on Dec 31st the need for end-users to be able to comply with Electronic Customs will increase exponentially so this is a problem that needs Solving.
