Scan ALL RM48 and RM24 2D barcodes.
This situation has persisted for too long. It's imperative that ALL RM 48 and RM24 2D barcodes are scanned. We cannot accept liability for lost items when the postal service fails to scan them. While we can claim for the postage, it would be significantly advantageous if these 2D barcodes were consistently scanned upon delivery. Many remain unscanned, and Royal Mail's excuse of it not being a priority is unacceptable. Their latest advertisement emphasizes the importance of their services for businesses, including the choice of delivery speed and online delivery confirmation. We demand 100% compliance with this service. The financial implications of tracking costs and claims are evident, so why not offer a business service that guarantees 100% scanned 2D barcodes? This would eliminate the need for claims and prevent sellers from receiving negative feedback due to apparent non-deliveries. All updates are promptly uploaded to eBay, fueling buyer concerns when deliveries are not confirmed through scanning. It's time for action to ensure that every delivery is properly tracked and accounted for..

RM posties could wear a persistant scanner on their body front, that scans as they post each item. They wouldnt need to get the cumbersome handheld device out of their cab. they just hold it in front of them and post. This would scan everything.
Then removed signed for as a service and save costs.
You can have that idea for free.

We used to have the problem a lot, in the end we moved to Tracked which actually worked out cheaper for Parcels (but more expensive for Large Letters).
We have found that these get scanned almost 100% of the time.In fact the biggest problem we have found is RM not scanning the items INTO the service when we drop them off. This means we can't get ANY compensation because they don't believe us when we say it was in the mail sack!!

Just fill it out, and put your post cost, it will know from the 'TRACKING' LOL - number that you cant claim however you can for the post cost.

This is an ongoing issue for us as well, upvoted. How do you claim for the postage refund? The claim forms (online and offline) don't seem to give a "not scanned" option for 24/48, only a signature failure option for signed for services.

What's the point in investing in the 2d Labels in the first place if they are not going to FULLY unitise it by scanning them as delivered? Its just an excuse to get around claims and late deliveries!
How about this one: All my 48hr Large Letters that get collect on a Monday almost always get delivered on the following Saturday! How is that a 2-3 Delivery Aim? They are clearly holding them back for inspection time and times again even though I've had to involve the PA to the CEO about 3 times! They still delay my large letters! Little Dickie Birds that a speak to say they are told to leave them as they are not their priority and instead first concentrate on SD, then Tracked 24, then Tracked 48. They do CRL's as and when they can be bothered!

Romeo Bravo,
While the idea sounds promising, don't you think we should receive what we pay for? It's perplexing that items ordered from China can be scanned and tracked instantly, yet Royal Mail seems unable to provide the same level of service. The increasing charges for a decreasing level of service are disappointing. There's a definite need for competition in the domestic packet delivery sector. With their monopoly, they seem to operate with impunity. We've been loyal customers for over 16 years, yet the concept of a comprehensive total scanning system has never been considered. It's clear that implementing such a system could streamline operations and benefit businesses greatly.

It's very frustrating I agree. I found adding a bright yellow custom made PDA/scan icon and a "scan" sticker to certain CRL48/CRL24 items prompted them to be scanned more. I think about 70% of mine are scanned, which is clearly not good enough given it's a scanned at door service.

I wonder if this will be removed...?
